Optometrist - Trailer:

The Optometrist was an entry in a student run, university sponsored two day Game Jam.

It ran at Teesside University, and was planned by the university's Games Creation Society and group called Level_Up.

People chose their own teams of three to five to work in from who had turned up to the event, I worked with two other artists and an animator, by the end of the two days we had to see what we had and then present it to a panel of chosen judges.

Every team got a different theme, the theme we had collected from the library was a book called "Blind Spots" and we then had to create a game relating to the book in any way we saw fit.

Our idea was that, at opticians there are the trial glasses that can have lenses slide in to test the individuals vision. We used this concept to create the mechanic of being able to "Switch lenses" so that one lens allows vision of the foes, but not the environment, while the other lens does the opposite. This meant the player consistently had a blind spot.

I was one of the artists in the team of four, and worked on things such as creating assets, the character, trailer editing, logos and music implementation.

There was a reward for the team who was deemed as the winner of the event, there were five teams that presented at the Game Jam, in the end our team took the prize.

What is Man? - Trailer:

"What is Man?" was an entry in a student run, university sponsored twenty four hour Game Jam.

The event ran at Teesside University, and was planned by the university's Games Creation Society and group called Level_Up.

People chose their own teams of three to five to work in from who had turned up to the event, I worked with two other artists and a visual effects student.
By the end of the twenty four hours we had to see what we had and show a trailer of the game to the other teams, along with a playable demo that they could try. Afterwards, the students all voted on their favourite submissions.

Every team got a different theme, the theme we had collected from the library was a book called "What is Man?" and we then had to create a game relating to the book in any way we saw fit.

Our idea was that we had a Greek styled male statue in a thinking pose, the statue would think of an object that was related to a jobs such as "Milkman" or "Fireman". Through the hints, the player would have to figure out the correct hat to place on the statue's head with the arcade crane controls.

I was one of the artists in the team of four, and worked on environment asset creation, brain storming and trailer creation.
